1. About us

2. These terms

These terms apply to all orders placed through toughenedglassdirect.co.uk. By placing an order you agree to these terms. Please read them together with our Privacy Policy, Delivery Information and Returns & Refunds Policy.

3. Products and made-to-measure items

Many of our products are cut, toughened and finished to the exact dimensions and specification you provide (“made-to-measure items”). It is your responsibility to check all measurements, thicknesses, shapes, cut-outs, colours and finishes before completing your order. All bespoke glass is manufactured with a cutting tolerance of +/-2mm, and internal notches carry a 7mm radius for structural integrity during toughening. Bespoke items are subject to a minimum charge of £30 per piece.

4. Ordering and acceptance

Your order is an offer to buy. A contract is formed when we email you to confirm dispatch or otherwise accept your order. We may decline an order where a product is unavailable, where we identify a pricing or specification error, or where the specification cannot safely be manufactured; if payment has been taken we will refund it in full.

5. Prices and payment

All prices are shown in pounds sterling and include VAT unless stated otherwise. Delivery charges are shown at checkout before you pay. Payment is taken at the time of ordering via our secure payment provider (Stripe). We do not store your card details.

6. Delivery

Delivery timescales and charges are set out in our Delivery Information page. Delivery dates are estimates. Risk in the goods passes to you on delivery; ownership passes when payment is received in full. Please inspect glass on arrival and note any damage with the carrier — see our Returns & Refunds Policy for how to report damage.

7. Cancellations and returns

Your cancellation and return rights, including the exemption that applies to made-to-measure items, are set out in our Returns & Refunds Policy, which forms part of these terms. Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights, including your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 in respect of faulty goods.

8. Product safety and fitting

Our toughened glass is manufactured to BS EN 12150 unless stated otherwise. Guidance on our site about applications (for example use behind hobs) is general in nature; you are responsible for ensuring a product is suitable for your specific installation, and for having products fitted competently. Building regulations may apply to some installations (for example balustrades) — if in doubt, seek professional advice before ordering.

9. Our liability

We do not exclude or limit our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded. Subject to that, we are not liable for losses that were not foreseeable when the contract was made, for losses not caused by our breach, or for business losses; and our total liability in connection with an order is limited to the price paid for that order. We are not liable for costs of installation or removal, or for trades booked before goods have been received and inspected — please do not book fitters until your glass has arrived and been checked.

10. General

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction. If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest remain in force. These terms do not affect your statutory rights.
